RVNL EMBARKS ON RS 3622 CRORE PROJECT WITH BHARAT SANCHAR NIGAM LIMITED (BSNL) STOCK PRICE JUMPS

Enterprisingly enough, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a state-run company on the provision of rail infrastructure, has reached an impressive scale by completing a deal worth ₹3622 crore with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). These funds are allocated for setting up a broadband Wi-Fi network in rural India and will be the first move towards eradicating the wide disparity relating to digital divide and accessibility between India's towns and the rural areas.  

Workshops that are to feature in this plan during the middle mile will incorporate services and supplies together with the development, ownership, and operation of this network as per Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) methodology. This is an ambitious project to be implemented by a consortium led by RVNL, which brings in HFCL Limited and Aerial Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd., as other partners in the group. The DBOM contract consists of three years of the building phase followed by ten-year maintenance and 5.5% of the expenses for the first five years followed by 6.5% for the next five years in payments. 

The flagship program of the Government of India, BharatNet seeks to empower rural citizens with high-speed internet, drive socio-economic development, and help people access digital services. RVNL has reaped the positive impacts of this tendered job as one of the infrastructural players at the national level for a significant infrastructure boost.  

Concerning the announcement, shares of RVNL performed well. The stock surged by 4.1% to ₹469.75 closing on November 6, 2024. This, too, was yet another sign of the confidence investors were having as RVNL expanded its involvement with these large infrastructure projects.

This was not the unique current accomplishment marked by the RVNL authority. Instead, it includes ₹6000 crore received by the company, owing to the widespread contracts it has signed with various institutions, thus further strengthening its existing significantly infrastructure project sector. These contracts embrace various areas, reflecting the expanding company portfolio and competence.

It adds that BSNL's new tie with RVNL will contribute truly significantly to the digital transformation in the country and help in its development history.
